Living on the Ceiling, group exhibition

An empty apartment. A space waiting to be broken and rebuilt. Signs of a former presence remain. Who might have lived here? What persists is what occurred between doors and walls and that which haunts. The exhibition Living on the Ceiling presents works by an anonymous artist, Wera Bet, Yuval Bezalel, Osias Hofstätter (1905-1994), Oded Jacob, Shir Moran and Tomer Rosenthal. The paintings and drawings move between scales of interiors: the domestic rooms we inhabit, the psychological landscapes we project, and the architectural barriers that determine who may enter
and who must remain outside. In these works, walls are never neutral. They hold memory, divide populations, keep secrets and witness both intimate life and its disruption. The works register the weight of walls: the walls that enclose domestic life, the walls that separate inner worlds from outer realities, the walls that mark boundaries, the walls that hold the traces of what has been lost.
